“Happy Release Party, Charles Manson,” or “Radiohead/NIN-like Distribution Is For Criminals”

Okay, I wasn’t going to post today, but this title opportunity was just too good to pass up.

According to Mashable, then later confirmed to me by Wired, Charles Manson (the notorious killer and cult leader) has re-issued his 2005 album, One Mind (click to download), using a similar Creative Commons license to that used by Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails.

Now, in my eyes, anyone supporting this distribution model is supporting Charlie Manson’s decisions. Good job, murderer-lovers.

(Note to those who don’t know me: this post is 99% sarcastic. Though I still disagree about the “ground-shaking” impact this model has had on the record industry.)
